Red Hat, Inc., a leading global provider of open source solutions, has appointed Andrew Brown as senior vice president and chief revenue officer. In his role at Red Hat, Brown will be responsible for commercial and public sector sales, channel and alliance sales, and consulting services, as well as the company's global go-to-market strategy. The executive is a software industry veteran, delivering results for clients in hybrid cloud and transformational technology for over 28 years. He joined Red Hat from IBM, where he most recently served as General Manager of IBM Technology Sales UK and Ireland. In this role, he was responsible for leading, transforming and expanding IBM's technology and go-to-market organization, overseeing the sales, strategy, management and delivery of IBM's systems, public cloud, cloud and cognitive software, including integration solutions, data and AI, security applications and Watson used by more than 10,000 companies.

He began his career at IBM as an intern at the Warwick Lab and has since worked in a variety of senior software leadership roles, including general manager of Cloud & Cognitive Solutions EMEA, vice president of Worldwide Hybrid Cloud Software, vice president of WW Sales Systems Middleware and Director of Worldwide Sales Cloud & Smarter Infrastructure.

In Brown's words, “I have followed Red Hat's growth and progress over the past few years and have been impressed with the agility, vision and innovative approach that the company and its culture take. I am excited to join this unique organization and work with our customer-facing teams to innovate, collaborate and scale the hybrid cloud solutions that Red Hat brings to its open source platform approach.”

Stack most recently served as executive vice president and chief revenue officer at Red Hat. He joined the company in 2018 as its first leader for global accounts and specific industries, helping Red Hat deliver more value to large customers. During his time at the company, he worked to expand Red Hat's North American business presence. Prior to joining Red Hat, he held roles at DXC Technology, Accenture, HP and Fujitsu. In his new role at IBM, Stack will serve as a senior advisor on the global government team to help grow IBM's presence in the public sector around the world, emphasizing current products as well as future initiatives such as quantum computing.

“Being a part of Red Hat, especially working with passionate and exceptional Red Hatters, is a highlight of my career as a leader looking to serve his team. I am proud of all that we have accomplished under the motto 'mission first, people always'. I know there's still a long way to go, and I look forward to seeing what Red Hat can achieve in the next phase of open source,” said Larry Stack.
