Currently, it is common for companies to experience “positive dissatisfaction”, generated by a desire for constant innovation to leverage their business and offer the best experience to their customers. However, for consumers to feel the results of this innovation, it must be planned, structured and guided. With that in mind, one of the most frequent choices made by companies that want to keep up with the digital evolution has been to migrate their SAP systems to the cloud.

According to a survey carried out by the infosys, the “Infosys Cloud Radar 2021″, with 2,500 institutions from 12 different sectors from different countries, more than 40% of them intend to migrate their systems to the cloud in 2022. In addition, the survey found that the adoption of the cloud can add an annual profit of US$ 414 billion to companies. But to go this route of the migration process from SAP for the cloud assertively, it is necessary to understand all its challenges and benefits, as well as having a strategic partner.

The main benefits of migrating SAP to the cloud

Flexibility, speed and agility are just some of the benefits gained when migrating SAP systems to the cloud. Another advantage is the reduction of infrastructure and operating costs, generating greater capital savings for organizations.

In this sense, a company that intends to make major changes such as investments, company acquisitions, portfolio expansion, among other innovations, must have a high investment in its IT infrastructure. With SAP cloud systems, the company gains more agility and speed in service, in addition to optimizing work. In this way, when defining to migrate to the cloud, it is essential to create a scalability aligned with the business growth strategy.

The challenges of the migration process

Here we can make an analogy in which the migration process from SAP to the cloud is like a climbing trip to the top of a mountain. To reach the top, or at the end of the process, some challenges will have to be faced, and, at other specific moments, attacks and strategies different from the initial planning will be necessary. For that, there is a guide that goes all the way, like a manager with the necessary expertise for that migration, who understands and indicates the best team, pace and ideal movement so that the arrival to the cloud occurs with the correct decision making. .

Furthermore, it is essential that during the migration there is an acclimatization, which little by little adjusts the details and adaptations of the systems to their new environment. In the corporate world, when carrying out a move of this size, the cloud becomes an accelerator for digital transformation, preparing companies for the next obstacles and providing greater confidence in the uncertain moments that will still be experienced. In this way, after going through the process of migrating from SAP to the cloud, your company will be much more flexible in decisions and more prepared to act instead of reacting.
