Partnership aims to offer advanced solutions for inverters and intelligent systems for solar energy, lithium battery and data centers, which make up the Digital Power area of the Asian giant.
Technology multinational Huawei, through its new subsidiary Huawei DIGITAL POWER, announced a strategic partnership with WDC Networks, company focused on technology rental (Technology as a Service), in the Telecommunications, IT, Solar Energy and Professional Audio and Video sectors. The two companies had already closed a partnership in June 2021, to bring to the photovoltaic solar energy market, new technological solutions for the high-power segments and hybrid systems (on-grid and off-grid), using batteries of lithium to expand its operations within the most sophisticated residential, commercial and medium and large industries.
Now, with the expansion of this partnership, the goal is to focus on solutions in the Digital Power area, offering customers in Brazil the possibility of leasing solutions in Data Center Infrastructure (Edge and Central) and Energy Storage (ESS - energy storage system). These solutions include equipment such as intelligent temperature and power control, lithium batteries, and hybrid power systems that will support the 5G infrastructure.
“This novelty aims to further enhance the partnership between WDC and Huawei. Now, in addition to the partnership in Solar, we are part of the entire data center infrastructure segment, especially to meet a growing demand for “EDGE Datacenters”, fully aligned with the needs of creating necessary infrastructure for 5G and IoT. Our mission is to value and use photovoltaic energy for several other purposes, combining technology with sustainability”, says the CEO and founder of the company, Vanderlei Rigatieri.
“With the evolution of mobile phone technologies, energy consumption typically doubles with each new generation as the need for networks in general increases. Today, mobile operators in Brazil spend more than R$2 billion a year on energy alone. The solutions of this new subsidiary of Huawei can drastically reduce energy consumption, in some cases with up to 30% savings. In addition to the Telecom sector, we believe that there are other sectors such as Agribusiness and Industries that will benefit from these solutions. With this, our objective is to bring technologies to Brazil that allow an improvement in the quality of life of people and companies, and through TaaS - our technology rental model, we seek to simplify this process. We are very excited about this new partnership”, comments the CEO and founder of WDC Networks, Vanderlei Rigatieri.
“We believe in the synergy of our business units (Solar, Telecom and Enterprise) and this vision is also shared by Huawei, which further embraces the cooperation of all areas for a never-ending movement of smart consumption and solutions for the future. . WDC is prepared for this new wave and Huawei will be fundamental in this changing scenario”, concludes the executive.
