Program in partnership with the Third Sector Observatory and ReUrbi aims to support digital inclusion and training projects through the disposal and recycling of technology equipment
ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies, in partnership with the Third Sector Observatory Institute and ReUrbi, launches the ReciTech Program with the objective of offering reverse logistics services in the disposal of disused technology and telecommunications equipment to generate materials that will be reinserted in the production chain, with economic, environmental and social returns. The action will also support projects for digital inclusion and training, through donations of reconditioned equipment.
“One of the main concerns of the Third Sector Observatory is to bring together different public and private agents to contribute to the development of society and to reduce inequality in the country. This partnership represents the way for organizations to respond to the moment of difficulty caused by the pandemic ”, says Joel Scala, director of the institute.
In addition to making entrepreneurs and their employees aware of the correct disposal of their equipment and complying with Environmental Legislation and IT security, the ReciTech program aims to generate a positive impact on the environment and society, in line with the best environmental, social and environmental practices. governance (ESG), bringing financial results to be used in social inclusion and qualification projects.
“The ReciTech program comes to ensure that companies, free of charge, simple and easy, regardless of their size, adhere to the best social and environmental governance practices, in line with the UN Global Compact. In addition to the program offering an adequate purpose for products in disuse, protecting the environment, it will contribute to social inclusion and qualification ”, explains Rodolfo Fücher, president of the association.
In addition, within the radio program of the Third Sector Observatory, companies will be able to participate in exclusive mini-programs about the campaign to present their initiatives and how they are collaborating. A video series on the disposal of electronic waste will also be published on the institutions' channels, showing all the recycling phases carried out by ReUrbi, in the ReciTech program.
The year 2020 showed society and companies that we need to improve our relationship with the environment a lot and that access to education and employability necessarily involves digital inclusion, this is the path to a more just and inclusive society. “Through the Reverse Logistics process and recycling of disused electronic equipment, we avoid the emission of more than 2,460,000 kg of greenhouse gases and more than 15,330 kg of toxic metals. “This important partnership with ABES will make it possible to increase these results, which are so important for the environment and access to technology through the growth of more than 80 socio-digital inclusion projects already served by our company”, points out Ronaldo Stabile, CEO of ReUrbi.
