TECHNOLOGY AND INOVATION

Generating Social and Environmental Impact

ABES, in partnership with the Third Sector Observatory Institute and ReUrbi, launched the ReciTech Program with the objective of offering reverse logistics services for discarding discarded technology and telecommunications equipment to companies from all economic sectors. The program aims to generate materials that will be reinserted in the production chain, with economic, environmental and social returns. The program is national in scope.

Circular economy model with economic, environmental and social impact!

Innovating the technology equipment disposal model

1) Economic Valorization and resources for Sociodigital Inclusion
  • Reubi, as the operational arm of this partnership, will collect IT and Telecommunications Electronic Equipment, with exemption from the costs of their services Descartes Certification Scheme, and financially remunerating the lots to be collected.
In order to obtain the exemption from Logistics Costs for collection and transportation, it is necessary for the company to present in advance the collection location information and simplified inventory of the equipment to be disposed of (download the spreadsheet below).
  • The collection will be carried out throughout Brazil, with transparent economic evaluation of the lots and as part of the resources generated will be destined for socio-digital inclusion projects to be indicated by ABES and the Observatory, such as, for example, the donation of IT equipment.
Reurbi currently serves more than 80 social projects for socio-digital inclusion presented on this link.
2) Compliance and Environmental Impact
  • Compliance to companies by guaranteeing collection and reverse logistics in compliance with the Environmental Legislation (PNRS - Law 12.305 / 2010), certifying the correct destination of the discarded materials after a detailed inventory of the discarded batch equipment.
  • Assurance of property security when decommissioning property and IT security with the process of sanitizing data and media from HDs following the NIST 800-88 process protocol.
  • Issuance of an Environmental Impact Report to Reduce Emissions of Greenhouse Gases and Toxic Metals.
3) Line of action

The program's line of action includes the entire green line of Electronic IT and Telecommunications Equipment, such as: servers, desktop, laptops, tablets, racks, telephone exchanges, cell phones and other telephony devices, printers, monitors, stabilizers, wires and electronic cables, sources, HD, hubs, routers, switches, mice, keyboards, electronic boards etc.
