Igor Manhães Nazareth, Undersecretary for Innovation and Digital Transformation at the Ministry of Economy

In the webinar Legal Framework for Startups: measures to reduce bureaucracy in new business models", held on December 16, ABES discussed the impacts that the bill, which has just been approved by the Chamber of Deputies, will bring to the Brazilian market for innovation and entrepreneurship. The event was moderated by Rodolfo Fücher, president of the organization.

The first to speak was Paulo Alvim, National Secretary of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI). He highlighted the need to create a favorable environment for startups. The basic text that gave rise to the bill went through a process of collective construction based on a public consultation, which provided valuable contributions from civil society.

Subsequently, Igor Manhães Nazareth, Undersecretary of Innovation and Digital Transformation at the Ministry of Economy, commented that the framework should reduce bureaucracy for any company to become an SA, helping to attract investment funds, providing more legal security for investors allowing more business between startups and public authorities.

Juliana Natrielli Ribeiro, Deputy Director of ABES and Fiscal Counselor of Caixa Econômica Federal, stressed the importance of the Legal Framework for Startups being approved as soon as possible by the Federal Senate and that the flexibility of the rules will foster innovation, in addition to contributing to the generation employment and income.
