Periodically, it is possible to identify trends in the areas of technology. This happens more often at the turn of the year. Many of these analyzes and predictions place trends within a time span of 3 to 5 years for them to become reality.

I think it is important, however, to rescue some trends in Business Intelligence (BI) recently listed by different consultancies and companies in the sector that are already available in the market. So organizations from different industries can immediately implement them to drive the adoption of analytics and business intelligence capabilities, drive insights and business results. As they say: use the power of now in your management!

1- BI embedded in CRM and ERP platforms

The integration between BI and CRM and ERP platforms promotes an exponential increase in data management, document analysis, customer relationships, internal process management, among other benefits. Greater capacity and agility in creating dashboards, reports and forecasting scenarios will optimize decision-making, productivity, results and profits.

2- Long life to the dashboard

Dashboards are evolving and are no longer just boards for data visualizations. In addition to offering real-time analytics, BI tools allow you to contextualize and correlate more data in dashboards. Therefore, the decision-making process becomes more assertive and faster, based on an overview and broader view of the strategic data of the business: operations, sales, competition, the general market, whether internal and/or external. You can also parameterize the platform to generate sophisticated alerts as significant data changes occur.

3- Take advantage of Augmented Analytics: BI, AI and ML together

Augmented Analytics is a concept introduced by Gartner some time ago, which represents the ability to automate the generation of insights using machine learning and automatic text generation. AI-driven assistance adds value to each user interaction with data, from the integration between BI, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, including natural language processing (NLP) capabilities.

4- Promote application automation to trigger actions

Application automation is an off-the-shelf feature that eliminates the need to code integrations, making them much more accessible to a wider range of ecosystem participants. The BI DevOps methodology allows optimizing API production routines so that apps can be made available to users in a faster, more efficient and assertive way.

5- Safety has a high priority

It is essential to choose solutions that ensure greater governance and security over data access. The security measures encompass the entire infrastructure used for storing and circulating data, encryption, user authentication and the definition of profiles that will have access to information. Identify providers of analytics and BI platforms and solutions that have incorporated industry best practices. Security by Design, aiming to minimize vulnerabilities from the beginning of software development. And be sure to invest in other modern information security tools, which are always evolving like BI.
