The executive was chosen to lead the Brazilian Association of Software Companies for the next three years

Paulo Milliet Roque is the new President of ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies). The election, which took place this Thursday, March 31, elected Fábio Rua (Head of Governmental and Regulatory Affairs for Latin America and Global ESG Policy Leader at IBM) as Vice President, and also defined as statutory directors José Bublitz Machado, Onivaldo Roncatti and Vanda Scartezini. On the occasion, the entity inaugurated the annual renewal of 1/3 of the Deliberative Council. The former president of ABES, Rodolfo Fücher, and Francisco Camargo assume the role of President and Vice-President of the Board, respectively.

With solid experience in international negotiation with technology companies, having made agreements with more than 100 companies in several countries (such as the USA, UK, Ireland, France, Taiwan, China, among others), Paulo Milliet Roque is Co-founder and Director (since 2012) from DigiForte, a Certification Authority that issues official digital certificates. Founding partner of ABES, he held the position of Vice-President in several administrations and has been a director since 2000. The new president of ABES is also an alternate member of the Management Committee of ICP-Brasil (Digital Certificates), director (pro-bono) of AARB – Association of Registration Authorities of Brazil and the new representative of ABES in SOFTEX.

“My priority as President of ABES will be to continue the brilliant work carried out during the last administrations and to expand our work in the government sphere through a specific agenda. We will fight for the legal and tax security of our sector, as well as strengthen and support the work of ABES Committees and Working Groups, making them even more agile”, declares the new president.

For ABES Associates, the plan is to strengthen networking and invest in training. “We want to be even closer to companies, encouraging the digital economy, and encouraging the use of the “An Ethical Company” certification, supporting ESG actions. In addition, we will train our Associates' employees to comply with the LGPD, which can never be left aside”, he points out. For the team that works at ABES, the idea is to invest in internal training and quality. “We are going to provide training and increasingly seek to make ABES an association where people want to work”, he concludes.

The inauguration dinner of the new board is scheduled for April 25, in São Paulo.
