- IBM Guardium Data Security Center Delivers Unified, SaaS-Based Data Security Capabilities Amid Transformation to Hybrid Cloud, AI, and Quantum Computing
- New software is part of IBM’s comprehensive approach to securing hybrid cloud and AI
As risks related to hybrid cloud, AI and quantum computing upend the traditional data security paradigm, IBM (NYSE: IBM) has launched the IBM Guardium Data Security Center, which enables organizations to protect data in any environment, throughout its lifecycle and with unified controls.
O IBM Guardium Data Security Center Provides a common view of organizations’ data assets, enabling security teams to integrate workflows, address data monitoring and governance, data detection and response, data security posture and AI, and encryption management from a single dashboard. IBM Guardium Data Security Center includes generative AI capabilities to help produce risk summaries and increase the productivity of security professionals.
The center also features IBM Guardium AI Security, software that helps protect organizations’ AI deployments from security vulnerabilities and data governance policy violations at a time when the adoption of generative AI (and the risk of “Shadow AI,” the presence of unauthorized models) is increasing.
IBM Guardium Data Security Center also features the IBM Guardium Quantum Safe, software that helps clients protect encrypted data against the potential risk of future cyberattacks conducted by malicious actors who gain access to cryptographically relevant quantum computers. IBM Guardium Quantum Safe is based on expertise from IBM Research, including IBM post-quantum cryptography algorithms, and IBM Consulting.
“Generative AI and quantum computing offer immense opportunities, but they also bring new risks,” said Akiba Saeedi, vice president of security product management at IBM. “During this transformative period, organizations need to improve their cryptographic agility and carefully monitor their AI models, training data and usage. IBM Guardium Data Security Center, with its AI security, Quantum Safe and other integrated capabilities, provides comprehensive risk visibility.”
An integrated approach for a time of transformation
The risks of the era of hybrid cloud, AI and quantum computing mean that essential data – from medical records and financial transactions to intellectual property and critical infrastructure – require new forms of protection. During this transformative period, organizations urgently need a trusted partner and an integrated approach to data security, not a patchwork of point solutions. IBM is pioneering this integrated approach.
IBM is also adding decentralized identity capabilities to its Verify portfolio today: IBM Verify Digital Credentials that enables users to store and manage their own credentials. The feature digitizes physical credentials, such as driver’s licenses, insurance cards, loyalty cards and employee badges, which can then be standardized, stored and shared with comprehensive security, privacy protection and control. IBM Verify is an Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution that protects identity across the hybrid cloud.
