In my long professional journey, especially in the last three decades in ASPR, I saw and acted in remarkable Success Experiences, but I also went through Failure Experiences, some definitive, without reversal.

THE CONTRIBUTION POWER OF ACCOUNTING SCIENCE

Accounting, especially managerial accounting, is a powerful social science for carrying out excellent management, such as financial, economic, tax and others. It is also essential to execute good Governance, in entrepreneurial connections with the main stakeholders. 

MISUSE OF ACCOUNTING IS ALWAYS VERY DISAPPOINTING

When we come across major financial, accounting scandals, etc. and unfortunately if there is too much of it, it is a “blow” to every professional who values doing what must be done, in terms of practicing respect for the laws and especially professional ethics.   

BUSINESS SUCCESS AND FAILURE

Highlight: Yesterday's Success does not guarantee tomorrow, especially in this world VUCA.

However, momentary Failure can be reversed, have its page turned, especially in this same world VUCA. Just be open to opportunities and focus on alternative path changes, which are important to finding success again. 

SUCCESSFUL EXPERIENCE – “TURNING THE PAGE” OF PARANOÁ DE DIADEMA / SP. 

Paranoá, with 60 years of activity, is a leader in the production of rubber components, hoses for various automotive systems, such as fuel, cooling and thermo-acoustic coatings made of rubber, Polyurethane or TPO.

Between 2003 and 2013, it made large investments to serve the market, with an estimated annual production of up to 5 million vehicles. Not only did this not happen, but production reduced from more than 3 million to 2 million vehicles. As a result, in 2015, she found herself in great financial and economic difficulty and, through a lot of work, managed to make the turn around in 2015 and 2016, as highlighted by the CEO from Paranoá, Gustavo Kass.

In 2017, an important client asked to double the capacity for a product, which required new and significant investment.

To avoid large investments, it was necessary to develop a new methodology, using technology and a new mindset, now digital, to meet demand with low investment.

AS A RESPONSE TO DEMAND, DATAWAKE WAS BORN

She developed and implemented an innovative process based on the Industry 5.0 concept. It involved and involves enormous integration of people, equipment, whether old or modern, with systems controlled by integrated circuits, sensors and technologies such as Big Data, IoT and AI, expressed in unprecedented industrial modules.

ENTREPRENEURIAL CONNECTIONS 

Paranoá makes use of connections with research and technology entities, such as
SENAI, the Mauá Engineering School (IMT), USP, INSPER among others. These connections allow it to develop innovative solutions, improve productivity and contribute to technological advances, for itself and for the market.

The DATAWAKE system developed by Paranoá is a key part of this technological transformation. It relies on data analysis, artificial intelligence and automation, which maximizes the efficiency of processes, such as People Management, Production and even Controllership.

KNOWLEDGE OF PARANOÁ’S SUCCESSFUL EXPERIENCE

I was invited to learn about this Paranoá Success Experience in loco, in early 2023.

I ended up having other face-to-face opportunities to be at the factory, to deepen my knowledge of Paranoá’s “key turn”.

APPLICATION OF EXPERIENCE IN PNI – CNI NATIONAL INNOVATION AWARD 

Paranoá applied its Experience to the CNI PNI in 2023 and, to the great happiness of the Board and its entire competent Team, won first place in the Process Innovation category, in the 8th. edition of the Award, on September 27, 2023, in São Paulo. We were able to witness the happiness of the CEO Gustavo Kass, for winning the honorable first place.

APPLICATION OF THE SUCCESSFUL EXPERIENCE IN THE BRASIL DIGITAL OZIRES SILVA AWARD OF THE BRASIL DIGITAL INSTITUTE 

To complete the period of “turning the page”, achieving an effective virtuous cycle in the company's last five years, its Board of Directors decided to apply its Success Experience in the Manifesto Brasil Digital and in the Brasil Digital Ozires Silva Award, from the Instituto Brasil Digital.

This Paranoá Success Experience, in its entirety, considering the alignments with the 5 Pillars and the 23 Fundamentals of the Brasil Digital Ecosystem in Action, with the enabling digital technologies, with E-Digital and with alignment with Governance ESG, can be accessed on here.

CONCLUSION

What is certain is that giving up or staying in the comfort zone does not generate change and that Management and Governance with a digital mindset can make all the difference.
