Brazil has only participated in the competition for three years, which is in its 15th edition, always reaching the TOP 3 in the world of the most creative students in the world with Adobe tools with two runners-up and one 3rd place. Registration is now open for the selection process that will take two of Brazil's most creative students using Adobe tools to the 2024 world final, Certiport's Adobe Certified Professional World Championship, in Los Angeles (USA), in July.

Free registration is open for students aged 16 to 22 to participate in the Brazilian Selective of Certiport's Adobe Certified Professional World Championship, the world championship for creative students using Adobe technologies in Illustrator or Photoshop. The event has been taking place for 15 years, always with the grand final in the USA, but has only had Brazilian participation since 2021, when the selection started to be organized in the country by ENG DTP & Multimídia. “I was invited to attend the final of Certiport's Adobe Certified Professional World Championship in the USA, in 2019, and I realized that there was indeed room for Brazil in the competition that brings together representatives from more than 80 countries. So we worked to bring the competition in Portuguese here, and it was a great victory for our young creatives”, explains Álvaro Venegas, founder and CEO of ENG DTP & Multimídia, and the person responsible for Brazilians participating in the competition. Each country will take the two best students from their selections to the 2024 grand final that will take place in July, in Los Angeles (USA), with prizes of US$ 8 thousand for the champion, US$ 4 thousand for the runner-up and U$ 2 thousand for third place, in addition, all finalists win tickets to Disneyland.

Live production in three hours

For Seletiva Brasil, participants must prepare to create a project for a non-profit client chosen by the sponsors of the Brazilian stage. A theme and context will be presented for creating the campaign for the digital world on social networks and the student will have three hours to develop it using Adobe tools. To evaluate the competitors, the panel of judges will be made up of 1st place from last year's Brazilian Seletiva, Egberto Oliveira, from Maceió (AL), and two other guests with experience in the subject: Ailton Santos Silva, who has a PhD in Design and Architecture from the University of São Paulo-FAU USP; and Marcelo F. Pereira, PhD in Design from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. The judges' evaluation criteria will be adherence to the theme, use of fonts and readability, use of tool resources, use of the image bank and materials made available, evaluation of aesthetics and suitability for social media/Application.

To participate, the student must have Adobe Certification, which can be done at the college or school that is accredited to do so, or at ENG DTP & Multimídia in its units in São Paulo, Curitiba, Brasília or Rio de Janeiro. “We are holding webinars so that educational institutions can be part of the project and offer their students the opportunity to become certified in Adobe design technologies, and participate in Selective 2024”, says Álvaro about the preparations to form the Brazilian team.

Brazilians are among the three best in the world

And Brazil has done well in Certiport's Adobe Certified Professional World Championship, always being among the TOP 3 in the world since it started participating, three years ago, with its first selection in 2020. Last year, Egberto Oliveira, from Maceió (AL), first place in Brazil, it came in 3rd overall in the competition among the 164 participants from 82 countries. In 2022, Manoela Campos, from Porto Alegre RS), was in second place in the world, as well as in 2021, when Gustavo Oliveira, from Goiânia (GO), was also runner-up. “We saw the number of Brazilian creatives in the selections grow, in 2021 there were 48, in 2022 there were 64 and last year we increased the number of participants by 100%, reaching 128 registrants. This year we want to greatly surpass this number so that more young brilliant minds in Illustrator or Photoshop can keep Brazil as a global highlight in these resources”, says Venegas.
