Sao Paulo, April 1, 2021 - ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies promotes a meeting to talk about the best practices and challenges of data privacy, in addition to the role of DPO (Data Protection). Next Wednesday, April 7, at 10 am, Miriam Wimmer, Director of the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) and Professor of Law at IDP Brasília; Christina Montgomery, Vice President and Chief Privacy Officer, IBM; Juliana Trench, DPO and Manager of Corporate Legal Affairs and Compliance at the Cosan Group; Armando Amaral, DPO (Cybersecurity Business Director) at Tivit, and Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES, meet for the “International Roundtable - Privacy: Best practices and challenges and the role of the DPO”. Entries must be made on here and participation is free, and there will be simultaneous translation.

“The LGPD (General Data Protection Law) theme is still very recent, but extremely vital for the business environment and society in general. It deserves our full attention, especially in relation to the lessons learned in the European common market with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). We will have in a single moment the perspectives on the ANPD side, a global view of IBM and best practices regarding privacy, the DPO perspective of one of the largest Brazilian groups, Cosan, and Tivit as a technology provider. It will certainly be an enriching moment ”, explains Fücher.

In addition, the event will focus on understanding how the work of the ANPD - National Data Protection Authority is doing and how the DPO's duties are doing. “It will be an important event in which we will share the experiences and challenges of aligning the privacy guidelines of the Cosan Group, which has a diversified portfolio of companies, present in the fuel, lubricant, gas, logistics and technology distribution sectors. Embedded to this diversity of business we have different consumers (B2B / B2C), a huge number of employees and cultures ”, emphasizes Trench.

“Privacy for IBM is a matter of trust, not just compliance. In this context, we applaud ABES 'initiative to promote the debate and exchange of best practices for privacy and protection of personal data with the presence of both sectors: private and regulatory ”, emphasizes the international guest, Montgomery.

This is an event attuned to the role of ABES in contributing to the construction of a more digital and less unequal Brazil, in which information technology plays a fundamental role for the democratization of knowledge and the creation of new opportunities for all.
