The biggest revolutions in health management are undoubtedly related to the control, organization and, mainly, to the integration that the electronic medical record of the patient offers. Today, conceptually widespread, the automation of patient records is already a reality in most hospitals, clinics and medical centers throughout Brazil.

And who would have said a few years ago that paper and pen would no longer be used as much within health institutions? In the same way, other tools are also rapidly being replaced by more agile and assertive options. It is health becoming computerized to bring the patient more safety and efficiency.

And it is not only large institutions that benefit, but small and medium sized companies also have the opportunity to gradually adapt to the new reality. More than that, some systems today are already designed for specialized clinics.

These solutions bring benefits to both administration and care areas within clinics in different areas, such as oncology, nephrology, cardiology, ophthalmology and orthopedics. In billing, it contributes, for example, to a more effective management of disallowances, which allows to reduce costs and improve results. In day-to-day care activities, it is possible to streamline the diagnosis and care processes in general, using customized and pre-defined clinical protocols with exam indications and integration between pharmacy, agenda, reception, billing and back office.

The personalization of fields in the patient's electronic medical record and the definition of clinical protocols allied to the institution's process is one of the benefits that the system can provide, in addition, of course, to the management of information in all process chains. For oncology clinics, for example, it is possible to administer milligram calculations automatically, which can mean huge financial savings. Likewise, it is also possible to connect chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions to the patient's agenda, managing information more efficiently. The definition and use of clinical protocols can also bring great benefits and agility in the care and treatment of patients, such as relating exams and medications to support the doctor in a moment of decision.

Systems are constantly evolving in order to automate processes and support decisions so that health institutions guarantee the best results, in less time and with quality information updated instantly. It is worth remembering that the solutions must be suitable for each type of institution, taking into account their size and specialty. The future of health is for all of us.
