Technology has never been more present in our lives. Still, the truth is that concepts like man-machine connection, realistic simulation, Artificial Intelligence and 3D experiences, essential for the new times, are just beginning to become more relevant and present in the routines of companies. In 2020, however, we will have a pleasant surprise: the Brazilian Carnival will have the last word in technology, with the samba school Rosas de Ouro taking the history of the industrial revolutions with emphasis on the Renaissance of the Industry that we are living here in Brazil.
The central idea of the Tempos Modernos plot, developed by the carnival-maker André Machado, will be to show, through history, the arrival of this new era. The objective is to present to the general public the news that could transform, in practice, people's lives, offering more productivity and efficiency in our daily lives.
Technologies from different suppliers will be widely used in costumes and allegories to show how digital innovation can transform the areas of health, agriculture, food and urban mobility, among many others. The FEI University Center, a partner of Dassault Systèmes, for example, is documenting one of the floats that will be present on the avenue. This means that the entire structure of the car will be digitized and reconstructed in a 3D model to improve its physical development.
Visionary, the Rosas de Ouro Society, a traditional São Paulo association, has always embraced themes that carry a message or that leave an alert for society. Modern Times will be the banner raised by the school on the avenue this year. It is an extremely important cause, which should be carefully observed by everyone, including ordinary people, influencers, members of civil society, companies, governments and experts. After all, we are living a unique moment in our history, with the technological revolution making room for a complete change in the way we live, work and relate.
It is very important that society is able to promote and catalyze the discussion about the future, enabling an understanding of the advances that are happening. Not to mention the importance of everyone getting ready to fully exploit the advantages that technology can bring to our lives. At the same time, we have to work and identify the necessary actions to really create a Brazil capable of taking full advantage of the opportunities offered by innovation in all its forms.
We are moving towards the greatest transformation in history, with changes ranging from factories to the way we manage our children's school schedule. We are facing a new paradigm in which everything we consume and do will be different. For this reason, although this is not the first industrial revolution experienced by humanity, it is almost unquestionable that it will be the most striking, with structural changes in our lives.
This is evident, for example, when we observe that innovation is the center of industries and companies, completely transforming the way they work and develop their products and services, allowing the creation of new business models capable of completely altering the balance of forces in competitive markets. The universe of possibilities is enormous.
Production lines in Brazil may be directly controlled by operations in China, which can receive projects sent by a team located in Europe. This means that the factories will have a new digital connectivity present in all stages of their processes, becoming more efficient, flexible, fast and transparent. Service companies and households will follow this model, becoming increasingly intelligent.
With the new technologies, geographical barriers will definitely disappear and partnerships between universities and companies will have an extremely positive global impact, being able to prepare young Brazilians for a new and emerging international labor market. This digital connection can be the basis for improving the transmission of knowledge between people, guiding and preparing new talents for the future.
Successful professionals in this new stage will be able to quickly develop skills to work in new digital environments. According to a global study developed with more than 2 thousand companies from 26 countries, including Brazil, the world leaders in the industrial sector intend to invest 5% of all annual revenues in the digitization of essential functions for their companies, a figure that corresponds to almost US$ 1 trillion up to 2020. The main focuses of these investments will be 3D solutions, manufacturing systems, sensors and connectivity devices.
Emerging economies, such as Brazil, can benefit from this moment of innovation and change to reach levels of greater efficiency and participation in the global market. Technology has been driving the growth of wealth in several countries and this can also be replicated in the case of Brazil. With these innovations, it will be possible to develop new products, expand business and generate a wave of jobs, with professionals prepared to work in new functions.
Investing in knowledge and technology will always be a differential. It is very interesting to have Carnival, which is the biggest cultural festival in our country, with this bold proposal. Without a doubt, the avenue is already equipped with the latest technology. Brazilian society now needs to prepare itself to immerse itself in this new digital environment once and for all.
