Contact created by Dawntech and Blip aims to centralize information and allows you to find and provide information about missing and rescued people, adopt homeless pets and support volunteers

With the tragedy that has been plaguing the state of Rio Grande do Sul in recent days, impacting more than 80 thousand families, according to the state's most recent Civil Defense bulletin, several companies have been committed to helping at this delicate time. Blip, a conversational intelligence platform between brands and their audiences in messaging applications, and Dawntech, a consultancy company from Rio Grande do Sul that develops virtual assistantss, created a smart contact on WhatsApp capable of connecting and disseminating information about missing or rescued people and pets. In addition, it is also possible to show interest in offering temporary homes for animals, see information about shelters and find out how to request help or support in the reconstruction of RS.

Named as “SOS Rio Grande do Sul”, the chatbot centralizes more than 70 spreadsheets of missing people and pets in a single WhatsApp number, searching for new entries and status updates every hour, in addition to accepting the sending of photos of missing animals. Centralizing information helps people focus on their efforts to find loved ones, as well as expanding the reach of those who want to help: there are more than 100,000 registered people and more than 3,000 pets gathered in contact. This was possible thanks to integration with data from initiatives such as Petmap and Buscaresgatados – Blip and Dawntech are open to complementing with data from other projects.

Since the contact was made available on May 10, an average of at least 100 users per day have been registered using the solution. “As a company from Rio Grande do Sul and which had part of its team affected by the flood, we are aware and are committed to offering help during this time of public calamity. We thought about how we could use our solutions and expertise to make a real difference. It was then that we created, together with Blip, an intelligent contact that centralizes information and allows other actions in a quick and scalable way. We hope to be able to reach more and more people and contribute in a meaningful way”, comments Levindo Taschetto, CEO and Founder of Dawntech.

Dawntech created and developed the bot, while Blip made its technology and platform available at no cost for messaging transactions, in addition to supporting dissemination. “This is a moment of mobilization and solidarity across the country and one of the ways we can support Rio Grande do Sul is through our solutions. Our desire is for families, friends and pets to be able to reunite. WhatsApp has an interface already familiar to Brazilians and the smart contact “SOS Rio Grande do Sul” helps people access important information easily”, says Daniel Costa, Chairman & Head of People at Blip. The executive adds by explaining that there is a proprietary area in the company that works with social impact, Blip Purpose.

The solution developed has integration with AI tools, such as a technology that helps identify and understand the characteristics of images of missing animals that are sent, and also another for processing the search in different spreadsheets. Other features that the WhatsApp contact provides are quick access to resources to support those impacted (such as donations and resources for pet owners) and hourly database updates.

To access smart contact, simply speak to the chatbot using the number: +55 11 964296974 or via the link https://wa.me/5511964296974

As this involves sending personal information, commitment to the privacy and security of user data is a priority. Before starting the conversation with the contact, the user is informed that when using the assistance system for flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul, all information provided will be treated confidentially and used exclusively for the specific purposes described. To continue using the contact, the user must accept the privacy policy, available at https://www.blip.ai/docs/politica-de-privacidade.
