Virtual meeting organized by ABES, takes place on the 28th, at 8:30 am, and addresses changes for the Public Procurement market and how new legislation should affect the IT sector

São Paulo, April 23, 2021 - ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies organizes the next virtual meeting to talk about the new Bidding Law. Next Wednesday, April 28, at 8:30 am, the invited expert, Thiago Camargo, Director of Technology of Prospectiva, former National Secretary of Digital Policies at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Information (MCTI), Lawyer and Master in Public Administration by Columbia University, meets with Rodolfo Fücher, president of the association, and Ana Carolina da Motta, Head of Public Policy AWS, Brazil and Coordinator of the Public Procurement Committee of ABES, to explain what changes this new legislation will bring to the Public Procurement market and how it will affect the Information Technology sector. According to Camargo, the new law opens space for IT companies to make sales to the public sector more focused on quality than on price. "The change in the Bidding Law affects all sectors that provide products and services to governments, but it represents even greater opportunities for sectors linked to innovation, such as the information technology sector", highlights the expert, reiterating the importance of debating the theme.

This event is in line with the creation of the Public Procurement Committee, carried out by ABES in 2020, which aims to present proposals for modernization, simplification, transparency and greater legal certainty in this market segment, based on the interlocution of the association with the Executive and Legislative, in addition to suggesting strategies that include public procurement as a factor that transforms public services, accelerates the digital economy and induces innovation, among other initiatives.
