ABES – Brazilian Association of Software Companies has a marked presence in the seminar cycle UrbanSus – The city as a Political, Innovation and Sustainable Development Platform, held by the University of São Paulo (USP), on September 23, at 8:30 am. In line with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the meeting aims to reflect on the role of cities and encourage good practices by sharing sustainable urban solutions. ABES is increasingly committed to the sector and seeks ways to be present in the various discussions that can have an impact for the country. “We intend to contribute to the construction of a digital and less unequal Brazil, in which information technology plays a fundamental role in the democratization of knowledge and the creation of new opportunities for all, in an inclusive and equitable manner. In this way, we have been working to ensure a business environment conducive to innovation, ethical, dynamic, sustainable and globally competitive”, says Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES.

The association will participate in four panels, the first on “Regulation and Instruments of Urban Management”, which will include the presence of Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES; Ana Paula Bruno, from the Ministry of Regional Development; Francisco Rodrigues Vale Jr., federal deputy of Goiás and will be moderated by Tatiana Tucunduva P. Cortese, from Uninove and IEA-USP. The second panel, “Innovative and Qualified Society”, will have the participation of Alcely Barroso, from IBM and coordinator of the Future of Work committee at ABES, with the federal deputy; Angela Amin; Maria Elena Johannpeter, from the Parceiros Voluntários NGO; and Ana Abreu, from UFSC, UVI and USCES. In the third panel of the day, “Governance and Citizen Participation” will be attended by Andriei Gutierrez, from Brasil País Digital; Eduardo Braide, Mayor of São Luis do Maranhão; Diego Ramos, from Teltec and ACATE; and moderation by Wilson Levy, from Uninove and PPGCIS. And the last and fourth panel will address “The City as a Platform for Technology and Innovation”, the speakers will be Jamile Sabatini Marques, Director of Innovation and Promotion of the association; Fabiano Sabatini from Intel; and the federal deputy, Vitor Lippi; and moderation will be by Palmyra Repette, from TER/SC and doctoral student at UFSC.
