São Paulo, November 25, 2020 - In view of its repositioning, which in addition to including an increase in the scope of its representativeness, it renewed its visual identity to bring more prominence to the letter S, representing the diverse perspectives of the software, fundamental for the democratization of technology in an inclusive and equal way, ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies begins the 2020 annual election process to renew one third of the members of the Deliberative Council, in which 10 new members will be chosen for a 3-year term. The election will be held on November 26, at the Annual General Meeting. In order to guarantee health security in times of a pandemic and avoid crowds, according to guidelines from public health authorities, the only voting method to be adopted in 2020 will be remote, via the internet.

ABES believes that information technology is fundamental for the democratization of knowledge, that is why the renewal of the members of the Board aims to create new opportunities and business models to improve the quality of life of people to build a digital Brazil and less uneven.

ABES 'scope of representation has recently been expanded. In addition to software companies and those that provide, in some way, related services, which were traditionally represented, there are two new categories of members: (i) companies that use software intensively and (ii) those interested in the information technology sector in general. In this way, the association now counts on the participation of companies linked to digital platforms, including xTechs (EduTechs, HealthTechs, LawTechs, FinTechs, AgroTechs, etc.) and also incubators, accelerators and investment funds, as they are important agents in strengthening of the innovation and dynamism of the Brazilian market.

Within this new scope, ABES launched the “ABES Startup Internship Program” with the objective of developing Brazilian entrepreneurship and assisting foreign startups to enter the Brazilian market. This is a program that makes ABES's more than 34 years of experience available to startups linked to accelerators, incubators and investment funds that are partners of the entity for a period of 6 months free of charge.
