Sao Paulo, October 5, 2022 — ABES — Brazilian Association of Software Companies and Embrapii — Brazilian Industrial Research and Innovation Company, signed an agreement to encourage innovation and RD&I projects in digital transformation; Stimulate joint projects between companies and UEs (Embrapii units); Encouraging the EUs to deepen their research on priority topics in the software sector; Support and promote EMBRAPII Days and meetings with the objective of bringing the UEs closer to companies in the software sector. The strategic alliance, announced during the virtual event “Fostering and encouraging innovative companies”, available together with the other events of the association on the ABES channel on YouTube, it is another step for ABES to continue working to demonstrate the sector's needs with development agencies and carry out actions for the development of companies.

According to him, the financial support for innovation carried out by organizations such as Embrapii represents an important stimulus to technological, scientific, economic and social development. In the opinion of José Luis Gordon, president of Embrapii, the partnership with ABES is strategic, as it meets the innovation needs of software companies and benefits all other economic sectors. “Today, more than 900 projects we support involve new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, internet of things, manufacturing 4.0, connectivity, among others. We are becoming a reference in the field of digital transformation. ABES brings together a series of companies that we can support, that play a strategic role for the development of Brazil, that employ a lot of people”, he explained.
Currently, Embrapii has 76 accredited units, which have state-of-the-art infrastructure, high technical capacity, experience with companies and excellence in innovation, and the goal is to increase this number. With the Embrapii on Demand Model, an instrument through which the agency started its activities and which is available to entrepreneurs of any sector and companies of any size, without the need for a public notice or call, Embrapii allocates resources through the economic subsidy instrument, without bureaucracy and with release of resources in around 30 days. It also has a partnership with Sebrae; the Basic Funding Alliance, which allocates resources to pre-competitive research and development (R&D) projects (TRLs 2 to 6) with a focus on new technological routes in the area of Digital Technologies; and the Digital Technologies and Innovation Network and the Bioeconomy Innovation Network, which aim to integrate Embrapiis Units that present synergies in an ecosystem to exchange knowledge and carry out projects together with companies.
