Partnership between the entities took place for the common purpose of productive inclusion of people in vulnerable situations in society and the job market

Escola da Nuvem, a non-profit organization that seeks social transformation through education in Technology and Cloud Computing, trained, in partnership with the PROA Institute, and free of charge, 143 people to work professionally in the job market. The initiative sought to train young people who were already programmers trained at Instituto PROA, but who would like additional education in AWS networks, in turn offered by Escola da Nuvem. Of the total number of students, 47% identifies as black or mixed race.

“We thought about increasing the technical repertoire of these young people. In 2023, we had 330 young programmers trained by Instituto PROA, through the PROPROFISSÃO Program, so we opened optional training for young people who were interested in taking an extra course, offered by Escola da Nuvem. In addition to all the competence development they had as Web and FullStack developers, there was one more qualification. This increased their knowledge and, consequently, their possibilities in the job market”, comments Wesley Linares, Operations Manager at Instituto PROA. PROPROFISSÃO is a course with a workload of 440 hours, based on the development of technical skills, cultural and behavioral aspects.

Overall, the focus of the partnership was student employability. In this sense, in addition to technical training, Escola da Nuvem also offered soft skills aimed especially at the Technology market, as well as career growth and job market tips. For example, CV formation, information on how selection processes work, job interviews and moments aimed at answering students' questions.

For Ana Letícia Lucca, CRO at Escola da Nuvem, this “was an extremely relevant project, a very strong partnership, because the students had a lot of commitment and engagement. These were the groups with the lowest dropout rate and the highest short-term employability rate, that is, less than three months.”

According to a survey by IDC, by 2026, the ICT market will have a demand for over 2.5 million professionals in Latin America and the Caribbean. In Brazil alone, the estimate is that the labor shortage in this sector will reach 800 thousand in 2025, according to the Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (Brasscom). Last year, Escola da Nuvem graduated more than 3,400 students in total, with 53% of them already employed.
