MBC and the Parliamentary Front for Competitive Brazil present 12 Commitments for a Competitive Brazil, built from the vision of the productive sector and organized civil society

The Parliamentary Front for Competitive Brazil and the Competitive Brazil Movement (MBC) launched, on Tuesday, 12, in the Chamber of Deputies, in Brasília, a priority agenda for candidates in the next elections. The agenda “The 12 Commitments for a Competitive Brazil” has the support of 46 associations, unions and entities from the most diverse sectors, which defend competitiveness as a central debate for the economic and sustainable development of the country.

The Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) supports the document built from the perspective of the productive sector and civil society, with diagnoses, goals and proposals for essential areas such as the tax system, logistics matrix, labor modernization, competitive credit, in addition to access to professional and technological education.

The agenda of proposals will be taken to candidates for the Executive and Legislative branches of the most diverse parties and states. The idea is for the themes to be included in the national agenda and discussed by politicians together with society throughout the electoral campaign.

Federal deputy Alexis Fonteyne, president of the Parliamentary Front for Competitive Brazil, presented the 12 commitments and highlighted the importance of having a common agenda in the national debate. “Much progress has been made in this one year of the Parliamentary Front. We present a legislative agenda with several proposals in several areas and about 50% of the projects were approved, while many others are still being processed. We want to bring good ideas to candidates so that they can discuss with their constituents”, he highlighted.

The president of the Superior Council of MBC, Jorge Gerdau, reinforced the potential of the proposals in the fight against the Custo Brasil, estimated at R$ 1.5 trillion a year. “The 12 commitments represent the union of the productive sector and civil society around a priority agenda for Brazil. The search for increased competitiveness is not for one sector or another, for this or that government, it is the way to improve the quality of life for all citizens”, defended Gerdau.

The launch was attended by federal deputies, senators, representatives of supporting entities and associations, as well as businessmen and executives.
