Ana Inoue, Superintendent of Itaú Educação e Trabalho, was one of the guests at the ABES CONFERENCE 2021 – EXPONENTIAL WAVES AND DIGITAL RESILIENCE, organized in partnership with The Shift portal, which dedicated the third day of the event (09/16) to evaluate the theme HUMAN FACTOR. The event had platinum sponsorship from Oracle and master sponsorship from Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM, Sky.One Solutions, TOTVS and CAESBRA.

From a scenario marked by the need for qualified people, the projection of surplus vacancies in the IT market, the lack of qualified professionals and the urgency of professionals to bet on continuing education, Ana recalled that the unemployment of young people, from 18 to 24 years, is twice that of the general population. “In other words, society does not know how to welcome this young person who is leaving school. It is this contingent of young people who, in the future, will take over the country, who will defend our democracy and the Amazon”, he pondered. She also recalled that only 20% of young people at this age are in universities. Another issue mentioned was the aging of the population: Brazil is on the way to having more elderly people than young people from 2025 onwards.

In addition, Ana noted that technology accelerates the need for continuous learning, as new knowledge is produced daily in all sectors, generating ever faster transformation cycles.

The Itaú executive highlighted that society in general and companies need to look at the 88% of students enrolled in the public network, they need to look at the 56% of young self-declared black people in the country, which increase the need to promote inclusion and diversity.

“We have to recognize intelligence and creativity, as young people have the ability to leverage innovation, however, in the structure we live in today, companies prefer to provide training within the company itself when, in fact, a movement from the society, companies and everyone to improve public education”, he pointed out.

ABES CONFERENCE 2021 – EXPONENTIAL WAVES AND DIGITAL RESILIENCE took place on September 14, 15 and 16 in digital and free 100% format. The event had its programming organized in daily thematic tracks: digital resilience, business environment and human factor, respectively.
