Event that will take place on July 28, at 8:30 am, will bring together executives from BNDES, FINEP and Embrapii to talk about lines of financing and development offered by specialized public agencies

ABES – Brazilian Association of Software Companies – will hold on July 28, at 8:30 am, the digital event “Promotion of Innovation for the competitiveness of companies / Launch of the Guide for Promotion of Innovation”. The meeting will address the lines of funding and support offered by specialized public bodies, whether federal, state or municipal, and also the launch of the 3rd edition of the Guide to Promotion of Innovation for the ICT sector. For this meeting, ABES will have the presence of Igor Manhães Nazareth, Director of Planning and Institutional Relations at Embrapii (Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation), which works through cooperation with public or private scientific and technological research institutions . “The initiative to bring together in a single document the various sources of support available to innovation increases the visibility of organizations and allows companies, especially smaller ones, to analyze the different models available and seek the one that best fits their business strategy. EMBRAPII offers non-reimbursable resources and a research network capable of meeting the demand for innovation in the national industry in all areas of knowledge”, says the executive.

Newton Hamatsu, Superintendent of Innovation at Finep (Financier of Studies and Projects), a public agency that finances innovation, from basic research to preparation of the product for the market, was also confirmed. “Finep has several support programs to help the development of innovative companies, and of any size. These range from lines of credit with more attractive conditions, such as Finep Inovação, Finep IoT or Inovacred; investment actions in startups, such as Finep Startup; and also subsidy programs, such as Finep 2030, Tecnova and Centelha. This initiative by ABES and ABGI is extremely important to guide companies seeking development”, declares the executive.

The debate will also feature Wellington Barros, Coordinator at the Department of Intensive Industries in Technology at BNDES (National Development Bank), one of the largest development banks in the world and, today, the main instrument of the Federal Government for long-term financing and investment in all segments of the Brazilian economy. “We at BNDES have sought to strengthen impact, entrepreneurship and innovation businesses through our financing lines, we want to increasingly contribute to the competitiveness of companies and facilitate access processes. The more knowledge dissemination actions such as this event and the Development Guide, the better for Brazilian society”, says the executive.

Also confirmed are Thiago Samarino, Innovation Manager, and Marina Loures, Innovation Director at ABGI Brasil, a consultancy specializing in tax incentives, innovation management and financial management - which provides information on the main mechanisms and programs, with their respective financing lines or tax incentives to support innovation in Brazil. “In my opinion, both the event and the theme are extremely relevant for companies. We all know that innovation is vital to Brazil's economic and social development, but we know that taking this risk in such uncertain times is quite difficult. Knowing this, we created this guide that brings the opportunities currently available to companies of all sizes, and our purpose is that entrepreneurs seek to innovate using these incentives, which in practice translate into more attractive financial conditions for the realization of innovative projects." declares Thiago.

According to the executive, “it is necessary that Brazil, through its development agencies, increasingly encourage the competitiveness of its companies by developing programs to encourage innovation and, consequently, it will generate economic development.
