Association encourages the importance of integrity programs and offers members a free course on compliance and ethics, whistleblowing channel and certificate for those who meet all requirements

On April 1, the Bidding Law No. 14,133 / 21 was signed, which highlights the importance of integrity programs. The document establishes general rules for public tenders and contracts for direct, autonomous and foundational administrations of the Union, States and Municipalities. In line with the new bidding law, ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies has been promoting the initiative An Ethical Company, in which it offers members free of charge the basic requirements for an adequate integrity program: course on compliance and ethics, model of compliance and reporting channel, as well as a certificate for those who comply with all requirements.

“In recent years, Brazil has experienced a movement to fight corruption and establish ethics and more transparency in the relationships that companies have with their employees, customers, suppliers, public agencies and other organizations. This approach has become fundamental for the success of any business, so we encourage corporations to be committed to the dissemination and fulfillment of their values ”, explains Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES.

According to Carolina Marzano, Compliance Officer and Committee Coordinator of ABES, in addition to enabling the closing of contracts and mitigating possible penalties, the culture of ethics and integrity must be implemented in a company out of respect for the laws, fair competition and an environment suitable business. “Corporations committed to the dissemination and the fulfillment of their values are increasingly recognized by the market and by consumers”, he adds.

Support for members is provided by the association's legal department and compliance officer, who answers questions and promotes periodic training. All information and means for joining the program are available on the website http://www.umaempresaetica.com.br, which underwent a recent content update and visual modernization.

The An Ethical Company initiative is also available for startups participating in the ABES Startup Internship program, which aims to strengthen entrepreneurship in Brazil, offering access to ABES services at no cost for 6 months.
