São Paulo, December 9, 2020 - With the enactment of the LGPD (General Data Protection Law) and the recent hacker attacks on federal, state, municipal and corporate bodies, it is necessary that technology service providers of information to protect themselves from the potential risks of their business activities. Faced with this scenario, ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies, in partnership with CAESBRA, is preparing another webinar to talk about LGPD cyber insurance. The meeting will take place on December 15, at 10 am, and will include the participation of Carlos Sacco, Director of Relationships and Services at ABES and Renan Zanutto Soares, account executive at AIG Brasil. The association also offers courses, via ABES Academy - the entity's area of education and continuing training on the foundations and application of the new law; LGPD Diagnosis , created in partnership with EY, for companies that are in the process of adapting their LGPD processes to check their level of suitability for the project; and ABP LGPD Index , which uses the data, sent anonymously about the compliance scenario of Brazilian companies in relation to the new law.

“According to Symantec, in 2019 losses from cyber crimes totaled more than US $ 22 billion in Brazil and reached about 62 million Brazilians, not to mention the occurrences that were not recorded. These are alarming numbers, which point to the country's vulnerability when it comes to cybersecurity ”, explains Carlos Sacco, director of relationship and services at ABES.
