With more than 20 years of experience with ICANN, Vanda Scartezini has gained recognition for her commitment to ICANN's multistakeholder model and her leadership in various community groups.
Sao Paulo, June 22, 2022 — Vanda Scartezini, advisor and director of the Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) received the ICANN Community Excellence Award from the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). This is an acknowledgment of his commitment to ICANN's multistakeholder model and his leadership of various ICANN community groups.
ICANN's Community Excellence Award honors those who have significantly contributed to the search for consensus-based solutions for policymaking in the global Internet ecosystem. An active community member since 2000, Vanda Scartezini (who is an electronics engineer, co-founder and partner of Polo Consulting Associated and partner of IT Trend Consulting) has collaborated with many of the entity's community groups and committees over the past 22 years. The specialist led the General Advisory Committee, The Government Advisory Committee it's the ICANN Nominating Committee, and was a member of the ICANN Board of Directors, of Security and Stability Advisory Committee and the Regional Organization of Latin American and Caribbean Islands. And as co-founder of DNS Women Program, in 2009, Vanda Scartezini provided invaluable support for ICANN's multistakeholder model and its effectiveness. A pioneer in the creation of the ICANN Scholarship Program, he also served on the Scholarship Selection Committee for three years. “The ICANN Supporting Organization and Advisory Committee Representative Selection Panel recognized Scartezini's commitment to ICANN's multistakeholder model and his leadership of various community groups,” the organization said in a statement.
