The event, which takes place this Wednesday, 06/29, will be free, with translation into Libras and will mark the launch of the RH TECH platform

São Paulo, June 28, 2022 – ABES – Brazilian Association of Software Companies promotes tomorrow, June 29, at 8:30 am, the event Talent Development for the Future of Work, which will count with the presence of Paulo Alvim, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI), and other specialists, who will debate the alternatives to avoid that Brazil goes through a talent blackout and guarantee that the country is in tune with the trends of the Future of Work.

The IT market grows exponentially each year: Brazil is in the tenth position in this investment ranking, with US$ 45.7 billion invested and leads in Latin America, as indicated by the Brazilian Software Market Study - Overview and Trends - 2022, published by ABES and IDC. However, there is a shortage of skilled labor in the area, which should last for a few years. “The training of professionals in the different careers of the ICT sector has not followed this evolution. Therefore, we need to guarantee alternatives, and ABES, which remains firm in its purpose of contributing to the construction of a digital and less unequal Brazil, will launch the platform Talent Development, whose objective is to support professional development. On this platform, we will disseminate courses from our partners, make constant updates on employability in technology and promote discussions on career management, team development, talent retention, hybrid work model, among other topics”, says Paulo Milliet Roque, president of ABES.

The guests for the webinar on the Talent Development for the Future of Work São Paulo Alvim (Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation), Aline Cardoso (Municipal Secretary for Economic Development and Work at São Paulo City Hall), Fábio Martinelli (Leader of the Software and Cloud Computing programs at IDC), Alcely Barroso (Leader of the ABES Future of Work committee and partner at Voe sem Asas), Tiago Yonamine (Partner and founder of Trampos and business mentor), Silvia Bassi (Journalist and Publisher of The Shift) and Paulo Milliet Roque (President of ABES).

About ABES

ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies) aims to contribute to the construction of a more digital and less unequal Brazil, in which information technology plays a fundamental role in the democratization of knowledge and the creation of new opportunities for all. In this sense, it aims to ensure a business environment conducive to innovation, ethical, dynamic, sustainable and globally competitive, always in line with its mission to connect, guide, protect and develop the Brazilian information technology market.

Currently, ABES represents approximately 2 thousand companies, which total about 85% of the revenue of the software and services segment in Brazil, distributed in 24 Brazilian states and in the Federal District, responsible for the generation of more than 210 thousand direct jobs and an annual revenue of the order of R$ 80 billion in 2020.

With the objective of encouraging the participation of associates in the entity's projects and in the direction of the Brazilian software and services industry, ABES created, in 1995, the Working Groups (WG) which, since 2013, began to use the name of Committees . They function as forums for discussion of specific issues related to the sector, presentation of proposals and action plans. The functioning of the committees and GTs are guided by an internal regulation established by the association, which defines the best practices: functioning, form of action, results and reports. On a day-to-day basis, the committees and GTs must maintain a constant channel of communication between the membership, the Deliberative Council and the Executive Board. Any associated company can participate in the Committees, which are open to external entities that are invited by the associates.
