On December 11, Rodolfo Fücher, Chairman of the Board of Abes, and Marcelo Almeida, our Director of Government Relations, met with the acting President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin. The main topic of discussion was the creation of financing mechanisms that would allow city governments to incorporate innovative technologies into their processes, with a focus on improving services provided to citizens.
Geraldo Alckmin has shown his support for the cause, committing to facilitate dialogue with Esther Dweck, Brazil’s Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services. The goal is to enable city governments to adopt technological solutions, a way of stimulating the market for software suppliers and streamlining and reducing the costs of public services.
In addition, the meeting addressed other relevant topics, such as the internationalization of technology companies and the encouragement of innovation, elements seen as essential to boost Brazilian industry in different segments, including the ICT sector.
The meeting was attended by Uallace Moreira Lima, Secretary of Industrial Development, Innovation, Commerce and Services of the MDIC; Floriano Pesaro, Director of Corporate Management at ApexBrasil, Daniel Annenberg, Associate Consultant at Instituto i, and Isabela Bonfim, from Vector Government Relations.
“The expectations are that, based on these discussions, effective policies will be debated and generated that will bring concrete improvements to the provision of public services, making them more efficient and accessible to the population. The initiative promises to create a healthy market for technology in Brazil with positive impacts for both citizens and software companies,” highlighted Rodolfo.
