Free online event will feature the participation of experts and discuss strategies, challenges and successful cases 

ABES – Brazilian Association of Software Companies promotes, on May 11, at 8:30 am, the webinar Talents in Economy 6.0, with the participation of experts on the subject. The event, which will be free and will have a translation into pounds, will discuss strategies and challenges in the training of manpower, with the perspective of manpower training and the importance of young people in this process. The need for training is latent for the generation of economic development and greater competitiveness of companies.

“We are experiencing a global shortage of digital talent, which makes attracting and retaining talent one of the main challenges facing companies and HR industries today. This scenario of high demand for qualified people and, at the same time, of difficulty in selection is marked by the predominance of professionals below the needs of Economy 6.0, which leads us to debate, among other aspects, the importance of strategic planning and specific actions by companies that need to face this challenge”, declares Paulo Milliet Roque, president of ABES. 

For Mônica Vargas de Castro, National Superintendent of Operations and Service of the Company-School Integration Center (CIEE) and one of the speakers on the webinar, the internship and learning are ways that can help both sides – companies and students – in the proper development talent, so essential to Economy 6.0. “When we talk about 'talent', the first insight that comes to mind is young people, a generation recognized for their willingness to do things differently and that contribute significantly to the technological acceleration movement. Although we can find real talent pools among young people, there is still a lot to teach this youth”, he explains. 

The challenge of managing people in the context of Economy 6.0 comes up against large corporations and even startups. And, according to Augusto Aielo, featured in Forbes Under 30 (2019), CEO of the accelerator Voe sem Asas and who started his journey as a Young Apprentice, will speak at the webinar demonstrating this path taken. For Aielo, the answer to this question is just one: to invest differently in education and innovation. “We still educate today with the mentality of the industrial revolution, along the lines of 'decorate, obey'. We need to revolutionize how we educate, we need to revolutionize how we manage our teams, and we need to understand that we need to change today to thrive in the future”, he highlights.

In order to encourage the participation of members in the entity's projects and in the direction of the Brazilian software and services industry, ABES created, in 1995, the Working Groups (WG) which, since 2013, started to use the name of Committees . They function as forums for discussing specific issues related to the sector, presenting proposals and action plans. The functioning of the committees and WGs are guided by an internal regulation established by the association, which defines the best practices: functioning, form of action, results and reports.

On a day-to-day basis, the committees and GTs must maintain a constant channel of communication between the membership, the Deliberative Council and the Executive Board. Led by Alcely Barroso, Ariela Simoni and Luciana Siciliano, the Future of Work Committee was created to connect all associates in order to map the convergent needs among them and discuss trends in People Management, given the expansion of remote work and automation, the need for new technical and emotional skills for employees, policies to encourage inclusion and diversity, among other topics on the Future of Work. This integration forum should also promote a dialogue between the technology sector, public policy makers, professionals in the field of education and human resources, given that it is essential to encourage collaboration between various actors to create together actions that meet the growing demand for technology professionals.
