The company makes its payroll and human resources processing cloud system available to students at the institution, in addition to a distance learning course aimed mainly at improving employability and the inclusion of young black people in the labor market.

Education as the great transforming element and the door to all opportunities. This is the vision of ADP - a global leader in payroll management solutions. It was supported by this vision that, in partnership with the Cultivate Affinity Group, dedicated to promoting Racial Equality, the company has been working on the development of a partnership with Zumbi dos Palmares University.

The Cultivate Affinity Group is formed by ADP employees who brought the idea of partnership as a way to provide young people at the Zumbi dos Palmares University with an additional resource to improve their training and prepare for the job market.

It was then that the company developed a methodology for e-learning to offer all the training necessary to use the ADP platform for payroll, e-Social and Human Resources processing. The company that is today a reference in solutions online, linked to the administration and management of people, has a vast portfolio of clients who are continuously looking for qualified professionals for the use and optimization of the tools developed. Until then, only customers and the company's own employees were trained and qualified to use the system.

For the implementation of the project, a fictitious database was created, where the students of the University will be able, in an exclusive way, not only to learn the functionalities of the system, but to simulate its operation with all security and confidentiality.

“This project reinforces the importance of expanding opportunities through the development of technical skills, so that blacks increasingly have access to the job market, in addition to greater chances of progressing within companies. ADP acts as a facilitator for this achievement. And I am very proud that this initiative is embraced by the company, which does not treat diversity and inclusion as a legal or fashion obligation ”, highlights Claudia Perazio, who currently leads Cultivate alongside Eliene Cotrim, who is vice-leader of the Group within the company.

The training pilot in conjunction with the Zumbi dos Palmares University begins in the next academic year, 2021. The program will have a total workload of approximately 50 hours. Altogether there are five modules that will bring the themes: Payroll; e-Social; Point and Frequency; Human Resources; and Support to the Team Manager.

At the end of each module, the student is submitted to an evaluation. Your average must be equal to or greater than 7.0 in order to be able to take the next step. As long as the student does not reach the required grade, he / she does not advance on the training trail. Exams can be retaken as many times as necessary for approvals. At least once a month, a live class is scheduled, with an ADP professional, specialized in the use of the platform and in the training of Human Resources professionals from client companies, as well as a special call for questions.

“We believe that by making our system available, as well as our expertise and collaborators, we will contribute to preparing the arrival of these young people to the job market, increasing their competitive advantage, significantly expanding their chances and placing them one step ahead of those who are graduating. We are proud of this partnership, because it gives us the certainty that we are not only raising a flag, but also making a practical contribution whose transforming potential is indisputable ”, declares Mariane Guerra, Vice President of Human Resources at ADP in Latin America and sponsor from Cultivate, Affinity Group for Racial Equality in the company.

Diversity and Inclusion

As part of its values and its social responsibility policy, ADP has been intensifying its diversity and inclusion actions over the years. An important milestone was the creation of Affinity Groups, formed by employees who identified or sympathized with each of the following social markers: LGBT +; Disabled Person; Racial equality; Gender equality; and Refugees.

Each of these fronts has a committee formed by 15 to 18 employees who discuss the themes and present their proposals to the organization that mobilizes the resources to put the proposals into practice; The teams set their own goals and objectives, define the initiatives they want to carry out throughout the year, and are supported by a sponsoring executive (executive sponsor), that it is necessarily a VP or Director, whose main task is to ensure that issues related to inclusion and diversity are a priority on the executive agenda, approve budget and allocate resources, in addition to acting as a spokesperson for the cause institutionally. The Committees are formed based on the registrations received and are renewed every 18 months, thus giving other people the opportunity to participate.

Cultivate defined as pillars of action this year: training and employability, awareness and combating structural racism and discrimination, and support for the community. In the melee, together with the other employees of the company, they promote the debate and act as a bridge between these communities and the leaders of the organization.
